I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to ac-
knowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th. ulti-

mo (28046/1905) respecting the ammunition at Hongkong
which was seized on board the Steamship Tung Chau";
and to state that His Lordship concurs in the reply
which Mr. Secretary Lyttelton proposes to return to the
request of the War Office that a portion of the amuni-
tion may be handed over to that Department.
